What is a Vinyl Sticker?
A vinyl sticker is typically made with a flexible vinyl material in thicknesses that range from 2 mil up to 6 mil with the most common being 4 mil. Vinyl labels are perfect for outdoor uses with harsh weather situations. They are also a better choice over paper labels when your product is liquid or oil based. Compared to a paper label, the vinyl sticker material typically won’t allow the liquid or oil to be absorbed into the label. When you need your label to last outdoors or to stay looking good on your liquid or oil based product, we always advise to use a vinyl sticker.
Vinyl Label Material We Use
We use a 4 mil flexible vinyl in our digital presses that have an 80# white kraft liner that is printable if desired. The vinyl sticker sheets feature permanent adhesive and universal splits with scores that run the length of the press sheet. These sheets are specifically designed for short run digital printing with toner for long lasting, tear resistant, water and oil resistant uses. To avoid scratches on the surface, an additional layer of liquid gloss or liquid matte coating is added after printing. Vinyl stickers can be contour cut to any shape you can make with a die line up to 12” x 17.5”. Best of all, we can produce your sticker in just 1 work day or less on our Vinyl Label material.
For longer runs and jobs that allow for longer production time, a White or Clear BOPP (which stands for biaxially oriented polypropylene) label may be just as good as Vinyl and less expensive too. However, BOPP is not available for our short run toner based presses since it only comes on rolls.
